what a wednesday...

Yes, I'm still here... and finally posting to tell you about the wonderful Wednesday I just had!

The day started with a trip to the Martha Stewart Show! Lovely Alissa scored tickets for herself, my sister and I to be guests at Martha's Blogging Episode! Too fun!

The show wasn't quite what we expected. Martha featured several bloggers but most worked for her and there weren't any "Mommy Bloggers" or general lifestyle blogs though the audience was filled with writers of such. Ah well, the set is still as drool-worthy as it was the last time I was there and we did leave with some lovely swag!

Following the show we headed off for lunch at Balthazar. While we waited for our table we took a quick jaunt around the corner to Bloomingdale's to visit a friend of Alissa's at the Jo Malone counter. Alissa sweet talked a lovely little bag of samples for us. (Alissa, have I mentioned lately that you rock?)

After a bit of perfume and prettiness we strolled back to Balthazar where I feasted on Macaroni au Gratin loaded with thick slabs of bacon... yummy and eeevil! Then, as if that weren't enough, I devoured a Warm Chocolate Cake topped with White Chocolate Ice Cream. Needless to say, I didn't eat again for the rest of the day after such a naughty lunch!

What better way to walk off a few of those calories than with some serious shopping at ABC Carpet & Home? We ogled all the luxe we could handle and even spotted Matt Lauer shopping in the baby & children section with his wife.

Then we crossed the street for some more practical shopping at Fish's Eddy. I've been loving this store online for a while now and was thrilled to be in the actual shop. It certainly didn't disappoint, it was jam packed with charming & clever items to fill your kitchen with fun.

My sister picked up a few pieces of Memo Dishware as teacher's gifts. So nifty.

We strolled and shopped to our heart's content or at least until my not-used-to-getting-up-at-five-in-the-morning body gave out. A pleasant chit-chat filled ride home wrapped up our lovely day. Thanks ladies! What a Wednesday...

P.S. I was regretfully lazy and didn't bring my camera, but Alissa captured the day with a multitude of beautiful shots, check them out at All Things Alissa.

P.P.S. And thanks to Shaka's husband, who accompanied us to tend Shaka's sweet (nursing) baby while we had a total girly day. The husband and the baby were both delightfully accommodating.

Oh gosh! I loved this post so much! Thank you for your lovely words Lainkay. I had a great time with you and I need more time in your presence to learn from you. You've got to teach me all your blogging photo tricks. Your computer skills made our day truly pop on my screen.

Hey, I'm glad you got to check out our fun new park! Hope to see you again soon.

Don't worry, I'll think of something...hmmm...maybe a nice new wireless printer, or a bag of samples from Bloomingdales, or a lunch at Balthazar or...

Oh...but I'm glad you had fun anyway :)
