nancy drew style...

Watched Nancy Drew with the kids last night. Such a cute movie! I was an avid Nancy Drew mystery reader in my tweens, so this was a kid's movie I was glad to see. All tween girls should read Nancy Drew! I can't wait until Princess and Cha-Cha are old enough to read them. While the movie wasn't completely true to the books, it was clever and fun to watch.

The story line was good but for me the wardrobe and sets were scene stealers. Nancy had the cutest clothes, even Princess commented on how much she liked Nancy's outfits. Prim, pulled together and charming.













Try as I might I could not find a photo of Nancy's River Heights house from the movie. Delicious, just delicious. My dream house. If you watch the movie, it's only shown briefly but it's perfect. Also, the coffee table in one of the very last scenes... I want it! Quasi William and Mary, but large and... oh, just what I've been looking for forever.

Anyhoo, watch it with your kids, even if you have the ulterior motive of ogling the clothing and the sets! It's a smidge scary in parts, beware of letting the smaller munchkins watch it if they're prone to nightmares!

P.S. Isn't Nancy's lunch, above, lovely. Wish my kid's lunches looked more like that... eh, that's a whole 'nother post.
